Ramblings of seeing through the eye of the lens

Sometimes you have to distort your views on the world around you.  At least, that is what you have to do when you are looking for new subjects to photograph for your header image.  Mine have been around for a whopping 25 days and while I like them, I was getting too used to them.  I definitely needed to freshen them up.  So I took a few pictures while at work and around Venice, Florida over the weekend.  It’s similar yet different when taking pictures for the header.  You know what you want.  You know what you like.  But you have to retrain your eye to fit the dimensions allotted to you.  What fits that space and what plays well to the viewer?

There are some great photo sites here that can give you inspirations and ideas for your header.

Jeffery Foltice of Photo Nature Blog has beautiful and dramatic pictures of stunning landscapes and still life.

Photo Botos has daily pictures submitted by guest photographers and the web creaters, Charlie and Tom.  The pictures range from beautiful to stunning.

Just looking at the works that these people create help me get a better eye for what I want to show to you.

I am adding non-cropped copies of the pictures I took to show you how they looked before they became headers.  I hope you enjoy them and that they inspire you to take some time and distort your own view on the world around you.
