Daydreams of: The plan

Disclaimer:  This story has adult language.

Two figures huddled in the dark room with only the harsh light of the monitor to expose their otherwise hidden forms.  One typed rapidly while the other hovered overhead looking on intently.

“You sure this is going to work?”  The standing teen asked with nervous apprehension.

Fingers pounded the keyboard harder in annoyance.  “Yeah it’s gonna work.  Ethan, it’s gonna be great!

Ethan grimaced as his eyes darted to the locked door.  “What about your parents?”

“Fuck them.” Came the automatic response.

“Josh!  I’m not kidding!”  Ethan yelled.  “We could get in real trouble here!”

Empty cans of Amp jumped off the desk as Josh slammed his fists in anger.  “No we’re not!”

Ethan stepped back as Josh jumped up to face this threat of doubt.

“My programming is perfect!  My planning is perfect!  And with it I will rule!”  Josh frothed at his friend.

“Bull shit!”  Ethan protested.  “No plan is fool-proof.”

“But mine is!”  Josh proclaimed.  “It’s the fools out there that make it perfect.”

Josh paced back and forth rapidly while once again indulging in the sinister beauty of his scheme.

“It’s simple.  Every security program searches for viruses and trojans then isolates them before destroying them.  My program actually uses that action to rewrite the antivirus software and uses it to copy and spread my program all around the word.  It’s not just computers either.”  He continued. “It’s everything with a brain.  Smart phones, tablets, in-car computers.  Everything!  Everything that is connected to the internet will be caught by my program and will take every single solitary item and turn them into living artificial cells linked together to create the ultimate A.I. brain!  It will see all.  It will know all.  And I will control it!”

Ethan shook his head.  “I don’t know….”

“Well I do!”  Josh protested, throwing himself down into his chair. He excitedly punched in the last of the code and hit “Enter”.

“This is gonna be great!”  Josh beamed.

Just another harrowing story for the Trifecta Challenge.

This time utilizing the word “Brain”.

  1. I don’t know, giving one system unlimited control and intelligence can’t end well. Look how Skynet worked out for Cyberdyne Systems. Great story. It left me with a need to know what happens next.

  2. Sometimes I fear that this kind of thing is just a matter of time away. (Shudder) Well done.

And, on a lighter note, is it just me or did anyone else picture the two nerd sidekicks from Sixteen Candles as these computer whizzes? John Cusack and some other guy. Funny imagery for me. And now you. 🙂

  3. Thanks for linking up to Trifecta this week. If you haven’t already done it, you might be interested in clicking on the “Meet Your Fellow Trifectans” tab on our site and introducing yourself there. Hope to see you back on Monday for the new prompt.
